“I don’t paint patterns. I paint the drape as it will fall on her shoulder.”

Born and raised in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Kedareswari has spent twenty years in design. Her formal training began through Concept ID, the studio of Sirisha Surya, working across Vijayawada, Guntur, and Hyderabad. It was there she learned to think about how art lives inside a life, not just on a canvas.

Over seven years she built a hand-painting practice entirely by word of mouth. She works freehand, in fabric-safe pigment, building figures in layers across multiple sittings. Select pieces carry raised gold-thread relief and hand-set kundan stones, Tanjore tradition.

She holds an MBA, manages every commission with clear timelines and honest conversations, and is a mother of two grown-up children — both engineers — who grew up watching her paint.

Design Process

Days, not minutes.

01

Consultation

A conversation first. The occasion, the fabric, the story you want the piece to carry. Nothing is sketched until this is understood.

02

Sketch

The motif is drawn freehand onto the cloth in pencil. Every figure, border, and bloom placed by hand, by eye.

03

Pigment

Hand-painted in fabric-safe colour, layer by layer. Faces and jewellery are always last, when the ground has fully settled.

04

Dry and Set

Natural drying between every layer. This is where the timeline lives. Some pieces take a single sitting; some take a fortnight.

05

Relief and Finish

Where the piece calls for it, raised gold-thread relief and kundan stones are added by hand. Then the border, the finish, and the studio signature.
